What is real? What is mere appearance? Isn’t your appearance also something? But what kind of thing? Are there things at all? How many? One, two, or many? Maybe there are no things and only processes of becoming? Are thing-words just convenient labels for these processes? Are there any universals? Is there a god?

These are some of the most common not-so-obvious questions asked by philosophers of all types, including first year philosophy students, and really stoned people. But they are important questions to revisit, even if seemingly obvious.
